The other negative for me is the drop back to 5f, with that last win coming over 6f – with the his two runs prior to that coming over 5f and 5 1/2f, which both resulted in losses.
He’ll also have a big racing weight to carry (9-11) and each time he’s raced with 9-10 or more he’s also lost (6 times) to suggest the jury is out on if this sprinter can cope with big burdens.
Draw 8 is also not totally ideal over this 5f trip as he’ll have to either break well and get over or tuck in and that might involve some traffic issues.
Yes, the Holland runners have been in good form of late, which is a slight worry, but here at Wolves they are only 2-from-37 (5%) with their 4+ year-olds, which gives us another thing to cling to.
Finally, of the rest, the Ruth Carr team won this last year and try again – this time with a horse called Next Second, who is also the only CD winner in the line-up.
