Jack Channon-trained 4 year-old improving sprinter, who has won twice this year already.
However, as a result Tiriac has steadily risen up the ratings and is now 10lbs higher than the start of the year and is now racing off a mark 6lbs more than his last win.
That most recent success came at the end of May in a Class 4 event at Haydock and so is also upped two grades here into a Class 2.
He’s also raced twice off marks of 83 and 84 (is 84 today) and failed to win, so you have to question if the handicapper has caught up with him.
But the bigger worry for me if I were a backer is the ground. All three of his career wins have some on either ‘heavy’ or ‘good-to-soft’ conditions, which he’s very unlikely to get today on what is set to be a hot day all over the UK – including up in Scotland.
Add in many others with chances – including CD winners Jordan Electrics and Manila Scouse – there also seems to be enough other runners with claims on our side.
