The other niggle is that the handicapper has continued to hike him up the rating and is another pound higher than when running a fair second at Newmarket last time out – which means he’s now 5lbs higher than when last winning (Ayr, July).
Yes, he’s won with a big weight in the past too, but he’s still got 10-2 to carry here and, in what looks a competitive race, this also makes life harder.
Of the rest, Park Street and the two CD winners in the field Garden Oasis and on The River look decent options over the pick – especially the last-named coming from the Harriet Bethnal yard that has a cracking 43% strike-rate here at the track with their 4+ year-olds.
