In fact, he’s only recorded the one career win on the grass and that came at Carlisle over a mile back in 2022 – he’s had 28 starts on the turf, with just that sole career win and a string of seconds (6).
Yes, jockey Elle-May Croot will help in the saddle to take off 5lbs, but she’s also 0-from-8 riding the horse now. While even though he’s been runner-up the last three time – he’s actually been beaten 4 1/2, 3 and 1 lengths in those races.
Overall it’s a very dire affair but in these low-graded races this also means most of the runners will have a squeak on their best form. Add in that it’s a apprentice riders’ race, then this adds more unpreditablity so at the prices I’m happy to look elsewhere for the winner.
