A winner at Bath last time out for this Denis Coakley-trained runner will catch the eye of many – but he’s up 4lbs for that and looks to have more on his plate here today.
That career win was also his fourth from 23 starts, but interestingly it was also his third at Bath – so, will today’s switch to Salisbury suit?
His only other career win came at Newbury, but in his defence he’s yet to run at today’s track.
Being up 4lbs takes him to a mark of 62 and this is another concern for me. All four career wins have been off ratings of 60 or less – with two off 55 or lower.
As a result My Ambition has got a big racing weight to carry too (10-o) and having only scrambled home by a neck the last day, I just feel this 5 year-old will need to improve again.
This is backed up with the fact he’s raced off a mark 61+ on six occasions and is yet to win.
Finally, we’ll have 10 others running for us and with the bulk looking to have some sort of say – including Persian Phoenix, Roscioli and Galileo Glass – then I’m happy to take him on at the prices.
