However, the winner of that race has since finished 10th of 12 which questions the form of that run, while the 5th went onto be 8th next time.
The pick also had a 5lb claimer on the last day and doesn’t today (Jason Hart rides), plus the handicapper has raised him a pound in the ratings too – meaning hes’ really running off a 6lb higher mark today.
The other negative is that Zephlyn is also yet to win on the turf (0-from-12), with his two sole career wins coming on the AW at Southwell and Newcastle – both off much lower marks too.
Looking at the others, there also seems to be enough that we’ll have running for us – including course winners The Resdev Way, Myboymax and Lord Torranaga, who third in this race 12 months ago.
