This Marco Botti runner today looks to have an obvious chance, but also seems to have some question marks to answer.
Yes, he’s been running well of late – including a third here at Wolves earlier this month. However, he’s now raced eigh times off a mark of 55 or 54 (54 today) and failed to get his head in front on each occasion.
The other niggle is the trip. He’s up to 7f again here and from two past runs over this distance is also winless (3rd and 2nd). Amroon has also only won the once and that came at Chelmsford last year off a mark of 52 and over 6f.
Then, finally, it’s the form of his last run that I’d also be concerned about – with the winner and second running just average races since.
