Arsenal vs Liverpool (Community Shield) Preview

Community Shield action ahead which might give us an insight into how these 2 teams might fare during the season. Has the off season given Arsenal the time to work on defensive shape? We will have to wait and see.

Arsenal last 5 games – WLWWW

Arsenal have done no business so far which leaves them working with the same team as before. Which Arteta isnt a huge fan of as he is desperate to add to his defensive unit and get a solid base in the middle of the park which they have been missing for years.

Liverpool last 5 games – LWWWD

Liverpool are flying high after getting rid of the demons and landing the premier league. They will be looking to kick on and take home the shield which they havent won since 2006. No new additions that will effect the starting 11 which will be fine for a team that dominated the league, the big one was keeping the core together to keep pushing for more silverware.

You have a game that will be both teams first competitive game back which will lead to some cobwebs getting shaken off while they get back up to match fitness. Liverpool are favourites after last season which is no shock but Arsenal are no pushovers.
